As a teacher when your studentsh lodge a complaint it a signal that a students is going to through difficult time.althought nothing is wrong with a student lodging a complaint, some time their complaints might even help by prompting you to modify a classroom activity or practice but when it becoming too much, that is when it calls for a serious measure to be taken. Students with such problem might be going through the following
a) Feeling helpless; the students need your encouragement to look at the bright side of life.direct the students attention to something positive, praise the students when they makes an effort to solve a problem, that might be the way of helping such child to get on track.
b) Lonely; the teacher need to listen and respond to those complaints and comfort the student, that might be a way of gaining your attention and getting back on his or her feet
c) Feeling worthless; when a student feels worthless that means such students emotion has been tempered with, you need to engage that students with private talk. Let such students know that your office is always open for he or she at all times to come in with whatever is bothering them.you are always ready to help.
Are you willing to accept feelings, habits or beliefs that is different from yours?
The key to success in this ministry is being able to accept others. Become totally like the little kids(100% satisfied), ready to roll on the floor with the kids, forget about your palace, learn to tolerate their feelings, habits and beliefs.take time to talk about their personal lives, believes and culture, It is the way of creating connection for students from different cultures and backgrounds to feel comfortable and ready to learn in the Same environment,without converting yourself from your believed it might be difficult to handle the kids now you believe in nothing, which means you just want to be like them. The scripture says can two work together, accept they agreed?so you have to agree with who they are first, value their culture, accept their feelings in order to successfully conveyed your message to the class without interruption
The understanding between you and your students will bring a successful conversation in the classroom.
How is your reaction when they make a maze in the class.
They are coming from diverse background and their understanding differs from yours, before preparing to go into this. you should be willing to tolerate someone maze, they are imperfect, they do naughty things most times, believing that is the best at that point. at that time, you will be like oh ….my God! what on earth is this!You may feel like running out of the classroom, that isn’t the solution, your mind should be ready at all times to embrace such moment, it is part of the job. You should be able to endure in and out of the classroom, ability to control your expression before the kids matters.
