Are you willing to accept feelings, habits or beliefs that is different from yours?
The key to success in this ministry is being able to accept others. Become totally like the little kids(100% satisfied), ready to roll on the floor with the kids, forget about your palace, learn to tolerate their feelings, habits and beliefs.take time to talk about their personal lives, believes and culture, It is the way of creating connection for students from different cultures and backgrounds to feel comfortable and ready to learn in the Same environment.
Without converting yourself from your believed it might be difficult to handle the kids. The scripture says can two work together, accept they agreed?so you have to agree with who they are first, value their culture, accept their feelings in order to successfully conveyed your message to the class without interruption. The understanding between you and your students will bring a successful conversation in the classroom.
what is your reaction when they make a maze in the class.
They are coming from diverse background and their understanding differs from yours, before preparing to go into this. you should be willing to tolerate someone maze, they are imperfect, they do naughty things most times, believing that is the best at that point. at that time, you will be like oh ….my God! what on earth is this? You may feel like running out of the classroom, that isn’t the solution, your mind should be ready at all times to embrace such moment, it is part of the job. You should be able to endure in and out of the classroom, ability to control your expression before the kids matters.
How do you endure something that might be unpleasant or harmful?
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labour of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our father.1thessalonians1:3.
Remember an effective teacher cherish every moment spend with the children. Though there will be time of tumult, you will be observed formally or informally (that is why you should give 100% at all times) knowing that you are constantly being evaluated and criticized by your boss, colleague, parents and even your students. Instead of feeling bitter when someone has something to say about you or your teaching be open minded when receiving constructive criticism and form a plan of action, prove that you are the effective teacher, that you want to be, no one is perfect and there is always a room for improvement, thought sometimes others may see things you fail to see.
Instead of being angry, effective teachers reflect on their teaching to evolves as a teacher. think about what went wrought and what you would do differently next time, you need to remember we all have failed lessons from time to time, instead of looking at it as a failure,, think about it as a lesson and learn from it.As a teacher your learning is on going, there is always more to learn in order to strengthen your teaching.
