How to handle the parents folks. As long as this job is concern, this people can never be avoided, they have their role to play, inasmuch as they have their issues too, in order to work with both , you have to make efforts to meet with them at the beginning of the school year, make it known to them that they can come to you about anything at anytime.
Speaking to their parents should not be look at as an obligation but rather an honour. If they confided in you your work will go smoothly.to avoid parents troubles you need to extend that hand of friendship first,let them know you’re there to help. The issues most parents have with teachers is because they do not know you and what you can offer to their kids. That is the reason you have to communicate with them, let them know how prepared you are and how you are going to make a big difference in their kids.
Never get scared of parents as long as you are offering quality tutor, keep on doing the good despite their insult and bad behavior towards you.never mind one day they will come around.
As a teacher in every end of the school year, your achievement and that of your students should be measure in other to identify the area you were lacking or where your students were lacking too. So that they can be room for improvement for the new year.create good relationship with your students parents.
1: Effective lessons plan; adjusting the lesson plan according to your learner reaction to meet everyone needs.when you are able to plan an effective lesson, it will help you reduce extra work on some areas.
2: Add fun into your teaching method; gone a days teaching used to be only teacher’s center .it is now both teacher and students,there is no way you can be teaching and your kids are not excited about your lesson,they will not gain anything at the end of the lesson.so a teacher have to incorporate fun in it, make class interactive, give them a chance to contribute, create group games, take them out on a field trip.
3: Create a well conducive environment for your students.this is one of my favorite thing I do for my students, I make sure that I’m the first person in my class, I set my prayers, arrange my table , chair and work for the day. Before my students begins to come in. I stood at the door to received them.and as they’re coming in I make sure we exchange pleasantries at the door. That has becomes one of my habit, and I love listening to their little stories, from that door our conversation begins.with that I’m able to teach with ease for that day.
Children are gift from God,He gives them to us to keep the light in our home sparkling,they are like the flowers in the garden without the flowers in the garden the garden will turn a desert and the gardener will not have much work to do.
So you see parents are just like that gardener that is taking care of the flowers (kids) it is a lot of work to do.but even in the midst of this job, you’re still happy to do them because they brought illumination into your home,they make it sparkling and fun.even when you’re angry and tired their little voices can still put a smile on your lips.
So many people now a days believe that training kids is a very difficult task to do.yeah… sometimes its seems that way but the other time it’s becomes easy.but the point is the way you train your child that the steps the child will grow up with.he / she will walk on that path.
1 : Teach your kids how to keep their personal belongings safe At the early age teach your kids how to gather the toys after playing, get a basket and create a space in the corner of the house for the basket, when your child is done playing with the toys mum go pick the toy and tell your child to do the same thing,in that way you’re teaching that child how to keep things in appropriate place.
2; Teach your kids social skills Like how to play with other kids without fighting, how to be satisfied with their own things, listen without interrupting,use the magic words, especially I’m sorry and help their friends without requesting something in return.
3: Introduce your kids to school early They don’t need to go to school before they can identify some letters, numbers and learn other good manners, you can home school them .get the building blocks, pictures and object teach them at your spare time.this will help your kids to have idea of school even at home.
4: Minimize the time they spend in front of the television According to the research too much time on the screen has effect on the kids.the period of time they spend before the screen should be limited to 2/3 hours a day.encourage your kids to be creative, the world is fast growing with the use of technology. Encourage them to learn computer programming and many more.
5: Teach your kids morals especially relating with friends, siblings without fight. The world could be a peaceful place if parents can instill morals value into their kids.if you were not thought, you can make a decision to train your kids differently.read books, watch videos on morals and strive to build a peaceful home.
A teacher should be able to prepare an effective lesson, your students attention span is low, it is the estimated to be 15_25minutes only, it is difficult to hold your students attention for too long.so careful preparation of work is very necessary
a. Rehearse your presentation in advance before the lesson b. Obtain all materials, tools, equipment, visual and teaching aids in advance. c. Have all materials within reach and conveniently arranged, ready to display. d. Time the demostration,it should not exceed 15minutes. e. Remove all extraneous materials. f. Plan to use a skill or a method to advantage word from simple to complex, one step at a time.
How to present your lesson
a. Make sure all students can see and hear the lesson b. Be enthusiastic, professional, effective but not too dramatic c. Relax, use any mishaps or humour to your advantage d. Observe all safety rules and procedures. e. Keep eye contact with the class, ask and encourage class questions. f. Use a medial summary to strengthen your explanation.
REFLECTION POINT There are two people involved, the giver and a receiver, you’re the giver and your students are the receivers, likewise a starting point and ending point, what will be your account at the end, how many fixed assets have you invest in, and how many is left and how many can you account for, What will be your reward at the end, will you be issue a sack Letter, or promotion letter? Or like that man in the scripture, the master went on a trip, he called the three servants and gave them each a talent to keep until he returns, the first he gave five talent and two to the second, the last he gave one, the two servants traded with their own but the last went and digged ground and buried his own,, when the master returns, he celebrated the other two servants and called the third servant slothful, peradventure your master calls you today, what account can you give to him would you be like the first servant or the third one? Use your tongue to count your teeth(I mean solve the equation by yourself), remember you will give an account!
Teach well, teaching is a ministry,one day you will be call to give an account on how you teach every Kids that pass through your classroom.
